Nakbin's menu features an assortment of Thai-style soups, salads, curries and stir-fried dishes. We opted for a Chicken Tom Yum Soup (Rs. 640), Thai-style Prawn Curry (Rs. 980) and Kankung In Garlic Sauce (Rs. 480). Both mains (prawn curry and kankung stir-fry) were offered with a side of sticky white rice.
Oozing out with a lovely lemongrass-y hint, the Thai-style Prawn Curry was a winner. Adequately creamy, there was a lot of curry flavour in the gravy, and subtle notes of coconut milk to balance it out. The prawns had a rich taste too, all thanks to soaking up the flavour in the gravy, while being fat, plumpy, and chewy.
Garlicky and hella spicy, Kankung In Garlic Sauce helped to kick up our meal a notch. It's fresh kankung, so you won't get any funny flavours here. I loathe kankung, and yet I managed to enjoy this one.
The rice, however, was a bit overcooked.
This is an easy recommendation for lunch. Tastes quite good and quite value for money too. All the curries can easily serve two.
