Paan Paan makes great bread which turns into great sandwiches, melts. etc. It's not cheap but you're getting good, healthy value for money.

Great place to have a delicious Sri Lankan buffet…
The Subway franchise opened their second outlet in the suburbs…

God it took them 35 mins to fix me a Sandwich . Very slow service even though they have plenty of staff . Will never order there again. just buy the bread and get out lol

Best Sandwiches in the Country hands down. Value for money too. Although their Almond Milk is pretty bland. The Blueberry Muffins are superb and so are their Chinese Rolls. But seriously they have an awesome concept with the sandwich bar thing and Subway is a big disappointment so best stick with Paan Paan…
"Getting all the sauces was a bit much"

The food was really good and enjoyed it… A little bit pricey I would say… However, the hot chocolate was a big let down… Tasted more like fresh milk than hot chocolate… Would definitely go again for the sandwiches… - Shay
I think they make some of the best sandwiches you can get.
I hope they get a couple of tables so we can sit down and eat our sandwich there.
WARNING: They use UHT milk for all their drinks which contain milk, the coffees, hot chocolates and the almond milk. UHT milk has a bad taste to it. It is labeled "fresh milk" on the carton, but it has been treated by "Ultra High Temperature". Anything you can leave out in the heat for six months without spoiling IS NOT FRESH!!!
The fillings were excellent, but I found the ciabata too thick. I don't know if it's supposed to be that way (lovely thin ciabata at Delifrance), but it's tiring if you have to chew and chew and chew to get to the middle. The also have interesting looking coloured sandwiches for kids parties… has anyone tried those?
I hope - and expect, being a big fan of the Lorenz Road Paan Paan shop - that it's a great deal better than Subway. I think you are massively over-estimating the latter. Also I don't agree that a criterion of a good sandwich is that the bread should be crisp!
Not enough filling. Tried smoked chicken and roast beef. Overall taste is good. Bread could be better. Delifrance baguette is much better…. Crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Slow service.
My favourite is the multi-seed wholewheat baguette with tuna & mustard; lip smacking good & an extremely healthy substitute for lunch time rice and curry + it fills you up!
the food is really good! but they were so stingy with the filling :( and for the price the amount of filling its absurd, hope they fix it cus I really like their food :)
DEFINITELY the best sandwiches in Sri Lanka and the fact that you can get multi seed bread as a healthy option is awesome as well. The Spicy Baked Chicken is the best. However, their almond milk was just bland and not as good as Yamu says. And because of this they should seriously increase the number of beverages they have. And when you go there you can't but help buy their Blueberry Muffins, which again are to die for.
They now offer a home-made goods section, including gourmet cheese, chocolate cake, desserts, hummous and more…
Paan Paan.
Once I tried calling them… they had a problem understanding English - and you say they make a GOOD sandwich?
Hmmm…
Been there, enjoyed Spicy Chicken Cheese Melt… It was great!!!
Nice place, good service but less space for dine-in. Will go there again for sure.
Tried the sandwiches, chocolate milk and almond milk…just a wee bit over-hyped. Good but not over the moon great as this review makes it out to be.
The Brown Multi-seed they have is the best, it has yummy sunflower/pumpkin seeds to nibble on and gives a really nice texture to your sandwich. The sandwiches are always consistently good. I've have the chicken and beef. They serve good roast beef (although probably not made in house), unlike Crusty's that uses the processed kind. Provided that the Alfred House Road one is mostly like a pick up place, I do think the staff could go a little out of their way to be faster and efficient, they basically disappeared inside and couldn't be found. Price wise, not to bad, your looking at around 350 - 400 for filling sandwich. Get the honey mustard dressing with the smoked chicken/beef, its delish!
wow you have good service staff @ rajagiriya amazing…keep it up you have good future…good luck paan paan. :D
.
Poor quality, rip off!!!!
I used to get sandwiches from here regularly in the past and they were of good quality with plenty of filling including a lot of veg at a reasonable price. I visited them today after a gap of about 10 months and was disappointed at how much their standards had dropped. The same sandwich came with a little chicken filling, two tiny, thin slices of tomato, and a sparse sprinkling of lettuce sandwiched between slices of dry bread. Of course the price had increased by 30 %! Definitely not recommended any more.
