If you’re as lazy as the average Colombar, you’ve probably been waiting ages for an online shop to start up. Now there finally is one - Quickee. They deliver within 30 minutes and operate 24 hours on the weekends.
Quickee is a recent start up company so you’ll probably see loads of updates in terms of service in the near future. So far, they have got a pretty good business model and I think it's safe to assume that they cater to a high end clientele. In terms of service, they has been quite good on the few times that I’ve ordered from them.
You can order by either calling them up or through their website or android app. Their shop essentially started with just a stock of condoms, cigarettes and munchy food. Since then they’ve partnered up with Choco Luv
, Cioconat Lounge
, so now you can finally have cheese kotthu delivered in the middle of the night.
It’s a pretty cool concept and the fact that they deliver through the hours of darkness will make things a lot easier for the nocturnal community. And guess what - they deliver rolling papers; now you don't have to go all the way to Uyana
, smoke shop down Lauries Road, for a 100 rupees you can have papers and cigarettes delivered to your house.
Yesterday, I placed an order online at about 2.30pm for 2 packs of OCB slims (sadly, that’s the only brand of rolling papers they do but that's usually my pick anyway). 35 minutes went by and I was getting anxious, I hadn’t received any kind of confirmation about the order apart from the automatic confirmation email. I decided to call them up on their hotline and there was no answer, which was pretty irritating. After trying to call them up a few more times I finally gave up and sent them a message through their website.
After about an hour I got a reply;
Sorry about your order, as we were unable to receive any calls or have access to the internet due to a SLT fault.
Everything has been fixed now and one of our agents tried contacting you.
Please call our hotline if you still require your order to be delivered.
After seeing the email, I called them up and made the same order. After about 20 minutes or so I got a call from Quickee again. They called to let me know that the driver was caught in the rain and if it was okay if he got a bit late. I said okay, and the driver eventually showed up about 20 minutes later.
It was the first time Quickee had messed up so I’m going to give them the benefit of the doubt. It's a pretty convenient little addition to the lazy Colombar lifestyle and it will be quite interesting to see what the company comes up with next.
They deliver up until 3.00 am which is pretty cool.
