Tangalla Bay, Tangalle
Open Roughly 24 hours, best round sunset
This lonely island/isthmus just before Tangalle is a beautiful spot, well worth a stop as you're driving down the coast. At low tide (around sunset) you can walk/wade across a spit of land and be surrounded by sea and beauty on all sides.
Tangalle is just past Matara, if you're coming down on the Expressway. You take the Tangalle (coastal) road and past the Mawalla Lagoon and Hummanaya Blow Hole you'll see this bay on your right. It's just before the memorial and well before the Tangalla Fishing Harbour. You can park and walk down. The island is most accessible around sunset.Report Inaccuracy
