With just the right punch from spices and lemongrass, it was hearty and flavoursome, but we all agreed that its texture could be a little thicker. It looked and felt extremely light, almost like water. But thankfully, it didn't interrupt the flavours. The Pineapple Fried Rice With Prawns and Cashewnuts (Rs. 800) was absolute bliss. Slightly wet, but not annoyingly so, it was packed with deshelled, well-seasoned, grilled prawns, lots and lots of roast cashews, and bits of pineapple. It's a hot and sour rice, and adding a splash of lime will make it extra zesty.
This is definitely the best Thai Red Curry we've had in a while. Chunks of juicy chicken bursting with a savoury, lemongrass-y explosion of flavours as you bite into it, this one comes with a generous helping of creamy gravy. Priced at Rs. 700.
We weren't too happy about the Fish Cakes. For Rs. 750, you get three of them. Carrying a spongy texture, it was too eggy and oily for our liking. Nonetheless, the tangy-flavoured sauce that they serve on the side was incredible.
All in all, Thai House Colombo is a legit option to get your Thai cravings satisfied. It rings close to the authentic flavours and was served as generous portions. We recommend!
