Yala National Park Safari

Kirinda - Palatupana Road, Yala

Yala is Sri Lanka's wildlife central, and thousands of people flock the National Park every year for a chance to spot wildlife, especially the elusive Lankan leopard.

The wildlife in this country is seriously brag worthy, because Sri Lanka is in fact considered as one of the best wildlife watching destinations in the world. Combining the nature, wildlife and solitude, Sri Lanka plays host to 26 national parks, where you can observe the beauty of animals, doing their thang in their natural habitats. Although, planning a safari to one of these national parks could be a total hassle, especially if you're new to safari-ing.

SLanka Yala is a reliable service which provides some of the best safari experiences we've had. Currently, they're handling safari services in three national parks in Sri Lanka; Yala, Lunugamwehera, Bundala as well as Yala Buffer zone.

How Does It Work?

It's pretty simple. All you have to do is, call them at 0714401771, mentioning the dates, preferred national park, and the number of people that would participate in the trip. They're very responsive to their customers, so you can expect to have a really smooth process in organizing your trip, including the accommodation, meals, and travel guidance.

Their website provides almost all the details that you need to know about their services, from safari packages to accommodation.

Packages

We had them organize a safari weekend at the blissful wilderness of Yala. Their accommodation premises is called Second Home Bungalow, which has two types of rooms; Family and Verandah.

While the family room (Rs. 2000) can be shared between 4 people, the verandah section (Rs. 8000) provides a set of 10 beds, which should be reserved as a whole. Their accommodation is nothing fancy, but they have all the basic amenities that one would expect in a proper guest house.

Second Home has a shared kitchen where the guests can prepare their own meals, or else they can order up a really good buth packet (Rs. 200) from the bungalow itself.

They also arrange a bonfire and a barbecue every weekend, which is another thing to look forward to.

There's a special day package for tourists (Rs. 15000), which includes three meals, tea, bonfire and accommodation at their bungalow.

At about Rs. 5000, their safari package can take you for a 4-hour ride through the paradisaical Yala National park, to observe and enjoy its ecological diversity from a closer eye. As for Bundala and Lunugamwehera, it's Rs. 5000 and Rs. 6000 respectively. They also organize camping nights at Yala Buffer Zone, with packages starting from Rs. 8000.

You can read about our full safari experience from here.

Overall

SLanka Yala is pretty good at what they do. They're well-experienced, very organized, and know the Yala national park like the back of their hands.

Open 6.00AM - 9.00AM & 3.00PM - 6.00PM
