stay Safe QR Scanning/sms system

While applauding this amazing initiative of stay safe qr scanning/sms service system for recording consumer details, I would like to ask whether anyone has been forced to use a pen and book at a Cargills branch to record ur details without informing the customer about this alternative method?

Athurugiriya 2 Cargills branch does not inform the customers about this alternative method when checking in or out. Instead on 14.11.20 around 12.30 pm I was asked to write in a germ ridden, water sodden book next to a dirty dish towel with a pen a thousand others have used before me to record my details. As I've forgotten to take my own pen the branch manager vehemently refused to provide me with a new pen (which I would have bought once I entered the premises) either. Thus I left, distraught and humiliated.

I feel like these institutions need more awareness to protect chronic disease patients like me who'd like an alternative method of recording details. Please let me know whether anyone else experienced this sort of behavior from any places?
