Chilli & Dark Chocolate Mousse

If you love chocolate and love your Lankan spices, you'll LOVE this super smooth chocolate mousse. It's just plain amazing!

Ingredients

  • g of Dark Chocolate (Ritzbury)
  • ml of Double Cream
  • Egg Yolk
  • Egg White
  • pinch of Chilli Powder

Equipment

  • 2 Bowls
  • 1 Blender
  • 1 Pot
  • 1 Whisk

Method

  • Over a pot of boiling water, place a bowl (make sure the water doesn't touch the bottom of the bowl) with dark chocolate and stir till chocolate has melted.
  • Once melted, remove bowl and while the chocolate is still warm, whisk in double cream, then egg yolk, and finally chilli powder.

  • In a separate bowl, beat the egg white till it form soft white peaks.
  • Fold egg white into dark chocolate cream mixture.
  • Pour into glass or bowl (anything your heart desires that can fit in a fridge) and chill overnight.
  • Garnish with chilli flakes (optional).

TIP

If you add too much chilli, try adding extra cream to balance it out. Make sure to not overdo either, though!
