Creamy Chicken Curry

We really indulged ourselves thanks to Keells Fresh chicken and this creamy, flavor-filled curry that really hit the spot! Try it at home and earn all them Ammi points!


  • grams of Butter
  • pinch of Karapincha
  • tsp of Ground Cumin
  • cloves of Garlic
  • tbsp of Ground Ginger
  • Onions
  • tbsp of Chilli Powder
  • pods of Cardamom
  • pinch of Salt
  • tbsp of Vinegar
  • tbsp of Lemongrass Paste
  • Tomatoes
  • grams of Fresh Chicken (Keells)
  • ml of Coconut Milk
  • tbsp of Roasted Curry Powder
  • tbsp of Curry Powder
  • ml of Water


  • 1 Curry Pot


  • On medium heat, in a curry pot, add butter and let melt.
  • Once melted, add in karapincha, ground cumin, garlic (chopped), ground ginger, onions (chopped) and cook until onions become soft.
  • Add chilli powder, cardamom, salt, vinegar and mix well.
  • Then add lemongrass paste, tomatoes, and (Keells) fresh chicken. Mix well, then cover and cook for 40 minutes on low heat.
  • Add thick coconut milk, roasted curry power, curry powder, and water (if needed). Mix well, close, and cook for another 15 minutes on low heat.
