If you have 15 minutes to spare, make some delicious parippu to satisfy your cravings.


  • grams of Dhal
  • tablespoon of Tumeric Powder
  • tablespoon of Kothamalli powder
  • tablespoon of Chilli powder
  • Onions
  • Green chillies
  • cloves of Garlic
  • pinch of Salt
  • grams of Powdered Coconut Milk
  • Dried chillies
  • handful of Rampe
  • handful of Rampe
  • sprig of Curry leaves
  • tablespoons of Oil


  • Wash and soak dhal in water for 5 minutes
  • Wash and soak dhal in water for 5 minutes
  • Add onions, rampe and curry leaves
  • Add dried chilies and temper the mixture
  • Remove mixture from pot
  • Add the green chillies, chopped garlic and washed dhal
  • Add chilli powder, tumeric powder, kothamalli powder and salt to taste.
  • Add water as needed
  • Cook for 10 minutes on low flame.
  • Add dissolved coconut milk powder and stir
  • Let it simmer for 2 minutes and then add the tempered mixture and stir

Best enjoyed with some roast paan.
