Polos Curry

A Sri Lankan favourite, not many people know how to perfect this wonderful dish.


  • tablespoons of Oil
  • stalks of Rampe
  • stalks of Karapincha
  • pods of Garlic
  • tbspns of Fenugreek
  • tablespoons of Chilli powder
  • tablespoon of Salt
  • grams of Jackfruit
  • tablespoon of Chilli Flakes
  • tablespoon of turmeric powder
  • ml of Water
  • pieces of Goraka paste
  • sticks of Cinnamon
  • chopped of Green chillies
  • whole of Tomato
  • tablespoons of Powdered Coconut Milk
  • ml of Coconut Milk
  • tsp of Roasted Curry Powder


  • Temper rampe, karapincha and garlic together.
  • Add fenugreek and onions into tempered mix and stir some more.
  • Mix in chilli powder
  • Add jackfruit, salt, chilli powder, chilli flakes, turmeric powder and mix together.
  • Add water. Mix together.
  • Add goraka, green chilli, tomatoes and close. Cook for half an hour.
  • Next add in the coconut milk powder and coconut milk, and mix. Again.
  • Add roasted curry powder, and garnish with tomatoes and rampe.
