YAMU’s Guide To The December Parties (2012).

December. In Colombo the word isn’t synonymous with snow, mistletoe or mulled wine – its bright lights, bold bass and deep drinks. From the prelude of beachside raves and Colombo concerts to the climactic (or not) NYE celebrations, December is one big social binge. It’s that special time of the year where family and friends from across the seas flow back to the island in joyous reverse exodus. The lonely nightclubs stir from their months of hibernation; the beaches embrace the influx of warm bodies and cold cash; the buzz is palpable.

So what’s happening on the island this season? Some pretty good stuff by the looks of it. We’ve put together a selection of the December parties we’re most looking forward to below.

See you there.
