Fried rice, noodles, HBC, kung pao chicken, Chinese food is like a way of life in Sri Lanka. Joining this throng, there's SHIWU Chinese Restaurant – a welcome addition to the Chinese food scene in Colombo.
Located at the 8th floor of the Marino Mall Tower, it's a fine-dining restaurant that claims to offer picturesque views of the Colombo coastal line along with the delicious Chinese fare with a Sri Lankan touch.
Here's a peek at some of their well-known dishes.
This 'Steamed Grouper with Lime Chilli', is a popular item in their signature range. It's a sizable Grouper fish steamed in Garupa Fish Sauce. A glass of KWV Demi Sec Sparkling Wine on the side of this is highly recommended.
This Chili and Garlic Crab is another highlight in their menu. They suggest pairing it with their signature cocktails – Marino Chill, and Thai Red Pepper to further enhance its flavours.
The Wok Fried Noodles with Prawn is known to go really well with SHIWU's Dry Martini.
The open kitchen would allow you to take a look at how your dishes are being prepared.
