Amazing Sri Lankan Recipe Bloggers – II.

These recipe blogs are total eye candy, and we're proud to say that they're done by some amazing Sri Lankans!

The Flavor Blender

www.theflavorbender.com

The face behind Flavor Blender is Dini, a Sri Lankan who currently lives in Canada. She has travelled quite a bit, from Sri Lanka to New Zealand to the US to Canada, and her recipes perfectly portray the inspiration she gathered through those travels. Most of her recipes are developed by her – through research, experimentation and experience, and she presents them with a piece of background information.

In her collection of recipes, you'll spot a whole bunch of breakfast, lunch, brunch and dinner staples, many baked goodies, appetisers, tapas, healthy dishes, finger foods of all sorts, different sweets, savouries, drinks and even cocktails. These are further categorised under different labels so a reader would not miss any of the recipes. She also compiled them into a book and published it in 2017.

She has been dedicatedly posting these recipes since 2014, while pursuing her studies as a PhD student. You can contact her via theflavorbender@gmail.com for collaborations.

Savory Spin

www.savoryspin.com

Savory Spin, is Shashi's attempt to keep track of her recipes for her loving daughter. Kicked off in 2013, this blog was initially named “Runnin Sri Lankan,” and then rebranded to Savory Spin, in 2016.

Born in Sri Lanka, Shashi's whole family was relocated to Abu Dhabi when she was quite young. She attended college in Atlanta, Georgia and has been living there ever since.

Shashi's main focus is on nutritious, budget-friendly recipes with a Sri Lankan/ Middle Eastern twist on them. With a little spice, everything tastes nice, and Shashi makes sure to infuse them into her dishes to get that perfect flavour. At the same time, she gives out tips and tricks on how to make them healthy as possible.

Say hi to her via shashi@savoryspin.com if you have any inquiries.

Island Smile

www.islandsmile.org

Island Smile, is Jehan's tribute to Sri Lanka, and its people who serve up delicious food with a smile. Her journey to this blog began after she found a Sri Lankan cookbook at a random book shop.

Descending from a line of great cooks – her mother, grandmother and also her mother-in-law, Jehan is keen on trying out any recipe that catches her eye. This wonderful habit has opened her tastebuds to a whole range of cuisines – Sri Lankan, Asian, Mexican and Spanish etc.

Her recipes are simple and written to the point, and therefore, quite easy to follow. You can contact her via her Facebook channel.

Top Sri Lankan Recipe

www.topsrilankanrecipe.com

Through her blog Top Sri Lankan Recipe, Rocy does a great job in capturing her great love for Sri Lankan food. Being the daughter of a talented chef, Rocy's passion for cooking was triggered when she was 21 and she never looked back. In fact, her father is the biggest motivation behind this blog.

Aside from the usual veg and non-veg Sri Lankan curries, Rocy has dedicated a lot of space on her blog for Sri Lankan sweets, savoury snacks and bakes. These recipes are presented in a precise manner, so it's easy for the reader to digest.

Visit her Facebook for more information.
