Scope Cinemas, ever since their launch as Sri Lanka’s first multi-sensory luxury entertainment company, has never failed to impress their loyal customer base. They have been introducing new features every season and have always been improving and growing into making themselves the best in business.
Today, we are going to review yet another interesting feature at Scope Cinemas – Colombo City Center, and it is going to be all about the “Scope Kitchen”
What better way to enjoy your movie other than having to eat your favorite snacks or meals while watching it? Scope Cinemas at Colombo City Center brings to you this effortless experience through the Scope Kitchen where you can not only buy your favorite Popcorn with a drink for a classic movie experience, but also have a whole feast of other meals to dine or take with you to the movie theater.
The menu at Scope Kitchen includes appealing appetizers such as Crispy Drumlets, Crispy Chicken Strips, Crispy Prawns, Kochchi Cheese Sticks, and also Steak and Loaded Fries. What a spread of Appetizers to choose from! The mains are quite the deal here with Few Sandwich options to choose from, hotdogs with various fillings, wraps and burgers, and even an option of Salad and Crepes. The prices range from LKR 1000/= to LKR 2000/= for all Appetizers and Mains and would be an ideal menu not only for adults but also kids to try out.
What did we try?
We were moved by how the Chef himself brought the food to us, nicely assorted in a tray, and placed it on our table. We ordered Crispy Prawns from Appetizers and a Mediterranean Veggie Wrap along with a Grilled Chicken Sandwich from the mains. It was a perfect meal balancing off the veggies, chicken and seafood.
Crispy Prawns:
Crispy Prawns was the man of the match, with being so tender and juicy yet so crispy in your palette. The crispy outer layer was slightly spicy, probably because the Prawns could have been marinated in spices, but the meat of the Prawn was perfectly fried with a crunch in every bite.
These Crispy Prawns come in strips, served along with Tartar sauce and the portion was big enough for two average eaters.

The Mediterranean Veggie Wrap:
The Mediterranean Veggie Wrap fulfilled and exceeded all our expectations with the veggie filling inside. Veggie wrap fillings elsewhere would only include basic veggies but this wrap included crispy brinjal and other veggies, well marinated in a special sauce and filled with lettuce. A balanced flavor of Spicy and Sweet, with a soft yet crunchy wrap on the outer layer, this Mediterranean wrap was true to its authenticity, here at the Scope Kitchen. It was sliced into two and one slice serves averagely for one person, but yes, we preferred to have had one whole wrap per person.

The Roast Chicken Sandwich:
The Roast Chicken Sandwich was another blast. When sliced into two, the melted cheese, with other sauces were dripping down making us even hungrier while looking at it. The filling of BBQ roasted chicken marinated and mixed with various inhouse sauces gave it the taste it deserves, with the chicken slices being soft to bite and very flavorful in my palette. On the other hand, the sandwich bread was a bit too grilled and hence was quite hard to chew on. Yet, both of them together, made it a perfect combo. Once again, one whole sandwich of this blast would be more than enough for one person.

Our experience
From the theater experience to food and drinks at Scope Cinemas, everything was mind blowing and impressive here. As one of Sri Lanka’s finest entertainment companies, they are very much focused on their customer requirements and demands. Safe to say, Scope Cinemas are very customer oriented and would go out and about to satisfy their customers in every aspect.
All the food choices we made here at Scope Cinemas impressed us very much that we would definitely be a returning customer here, and could be just for the food only. The Staff were very accommodating and cheerful, and are always willing to guide you with necessary information you need at the premises.
