7 Late-Night Eats in Colombo: Where to go after 10 pm!.

Shamrina Carim

So you’re starving, it’s well past 10 PM, and the usual restaurants have shut their doors. You want something greasy, spicy, and comforting, but also easy on the wallet. Sounds familiar?

Colombo may be sleepy by night, but the city still has some food heroes that shine after dark. Whether you’re driving around with friends or looking to munch in your pajamas while binge-watching something, here’s a budget-friendly guide to late-night eats in Colombo with all the must-know info included!

1. Fazly’s Halal Refreshments (a.k.a. OG Burger Heaven)

If you’re from Colombo and haven’t done a Fazly’s midnight run, are you even local?

This old-school roadside spot in Slave Island is a cult favourite. It’s famous for its juicy, overstuffed burgers, incredible shawarmas, and those glorious chicken kebab subs that’ll leave you with saucy hands and zero regrets. Best part? You don’t even need to get down from your vehicle, they’ll walk your food right over.

3. Plaza Night Shop (Kollupitiya)

Sometimes you don’t want a full meal. You just want snacks, a drink, or something salty and satisfying. Enter: the Plaza Night Shop.

It’s a mini grocery-meets-snack haven in Kollupitiya. Open till late, it’s perfect when you want to grab an egg roll, a fizzy drink, and a pack of instant noodles for backup.

Details:
  • Location: Central Kollupitiya, near Galle Road
  • Price Range (nett): Rs. 100–400
  • Opening Hours: Till 1–2 AM most nights
  • Instagram: @Hotelde.plaza

  • Delivery: Nope—walk-in only

Pro Tip:

They often have spicy egg rolls fresh out of the fryer. Grab two and thank me later.

4. Crepe Runner

This one’s a new-gen favourite that’s totally earned its hype. Started as a food truck, Crepe Runner now has over 18 outlets across Colombo, serving up sweet & savoury crepes, loaded chips, mojitos, and thick milkshakes that taste extra good after dark.

The vibe? Affordable, Instagrammable, and very Gen Z after-class snack turned midnight cheat meal. Whether you’re team Nutella banana or spicy chicken & cheese, you’ll leave full and happy.

Details:
  • Location: Multiple branches (look out for the full 18 across Colombo)
  • Opening Hours: Usually open late—double check your nearest outlet
  • Price Range (nett): Rs. 400–800 (nett)
  • Instagram: @creperunner
  • Facebook: Crepe Runner
  • Delivery: Available on PickMe Food and Uber Eats
  • Specials: Weekly combos and seasonal flavours, often announced on IG stories

Pro Tip:

Order their loaded chicken & cheese fries + Oreo shake and thank me later. Sweet tooth? Go for the chocolate biscuit pudding crepe! It’s wild.

5. Pilawoos (Kollupitiya & Beyond)

The ultimate kottu afterparty destination. Pilawoos is Colombo’s street-food icon and for good reason. From cheesy chicken kottu to egg roti, it’s the place everyone ends up at especially after a long night out.

Yes, you’ll be sitting in your car. Yes, you’ll be eating off a plastic plate. But that’s the charm.

Details:
  • Location: Main branch at Galle Road, Kollupitiya (Colombo 03)
  • Price Range (nett): Rs. 600–1,500
  • Opening Hours: 24/7 in most locations
  • Instagram: @pilawoos.srilanka
  • Facebook: Pilawoos (official page)
  • Contact: +94 77 741 7417
  • Delivery: Uber Eats & PickMe available (delivery radius can be glitchy late at night)

Pro Tip:

Order a chicken cheese kottu with an iced Milo. Classic.

6. Lolly’s (Bamba Food Court)

Ah, Lolly’s! the unofficial headquarters for students and night owls. Located at Bamba Street Food @ 325, this laid-back stall serves up loaded fries, wraps, grilled sandwiches, and super affordable iced coffee.

There’s indoor seating, it’s lit, and it feels like a college food court at midnight in the best way.

Details:
  • Location: 325 Galle Road, Colombo 04 (Bamba Food Square)
  • Price Range (nett): Rs. 400–700
  • Opening Hours: 6:30 PM–1:30 AM
  • Instagram: @lollys.lk
  • Facebook: Lolly’s
  • Contact: +94 77 771 5517
  • Delivery: Uber Eats & PickMe available; direct call-in also works

Pro Tip:

Try their beef-loaded fries + peanut butter milkshake combo. Chaos, but it works.

7. Peppermint Café (Horton Place)

More of a “fusion café” than fast food, Peppermint is where you go when you want something hearty and aesthetic; think tacos, burritos, cheese toasties, and frappés under fairy lights.

It’s one of the few places in Colombo open 24/7, and honestly, a lifesaver when you’re craving something decent after 2 AM.

Details:
  • Location: 62 Horton Place, Colombo 07
  • Price Range (nett): Rs. 600–1,200
  • Opening Hours: Open 24 hours, all week
  • Instagram: @peppermintcafe_srilanka
  • Facebook: Peppermint Café
  • Contact: +94 75 632 0420
  • Delivery: Uber Eats, PickMe, and sometimes direct delivery via DM

Pro Tip:

Late-night burrito + iced karak chai = bliss.

Before you head out:
  • Bring cash. Card machines sleep early.
  • Call first. Hours and delivery can change based on vibes.
  • Most deliver via PickMe/UberEats, but delivery fees vary based on your distance.
  • Park and eat is totally a thing! Many places bring food to your car window like royalty.

So the next time your tummy rumbles at midnight, don’t settle for sad snacks. Whether it’s messy burgers or spicy kottu, Colombo’s got some late-night love for you and your budget 🙂
