Indulge in the creaminess of Royal Creamery.

By MI

The Ambience

It was ice cream, milkshakes and much more sweetness galore at Royal Creamery at Baseline Road, Colombo 9. The ice cream parlour which opened in 2020, is quite an attraction in the area and those who see the colourful social media pictures and craving to indulge in the preparations.

The place is simple and chilled with nothing fancy about the setting. What score is how they serve and within a short time how things are done. Chilling with chilled desserts is what can be said of the place.

The ice cream, milk-freak shakes and sundaes

The place serves premium ice creams, rolled ice creams, freak-shakes, milkshakes and sundaes. The ice creams were really good, and reasonable too. The price of an ice cream cone started from Rs 130 onwards and it varies with what you order.

Craving to try the freak-shakes, and as expected it was so good. Served with a cone ice cream and with so much topping. This is indeed worth it for Rs 850.  All the freak shakes were served exactly like on the menu. Having that was so filling that u didn’t need to have anything to eat after. Anyway had to save room for the other sweet delicacies to explore.  The mango spilt is a must-try, even though not a fan of mango ice cream, the mango ice cream is a must-try, priced at Rs 640, and served with three scoops and they don’t comprise on the toppings.

Being a fan of Oreo biscuits,  the premium roll was the best, and worth the price of Rs 680, and the brownie rolled ice cream is a must-try too priced at Rs 650.  Well,  kit kat lovers, there is something you would love the kit kat rolled ice cream priced Rs 680.  Cheese and berry ice cream, wasn’t sure of this combo, but it was good and worth it for Rs 550.

Besides what we had, it’s interesting how this place loves to experiment with the desserts and toppings like the milo combined with the milo rolled ice cream, nicely presented and it’s something that should be popularized for its amazing presentation.

Royal creamery loves to experiment, and here are some that you should try. We couldn’t have it all cause before could reach home we would have suffered a sugar rush, but we had favourites would love you guys to try it.

The Berry Tower is a fruit cocktail served with three different scoops of ice cream, priced at Rs 700 and take away is Rs 800. The Chocolate Monster is served with chocolate and chocolate chip ice cream priced at Rs 550. The Berry Blast, blueberry ice cream served with dried fruits, is priced at Rs 550.

And the milkshakes which start from Rs 450, and the served in a massive glass and they have Oreo milkshake too.

The founder is very particular about the ingredients and the supplies, everything is sourced from the US and Dubai, rarely gets anything from here.

For The Next Time

Looking for the next ice cream and to indulge in sweetness, do try Royal Creamery it’s reasonably priced and taste good. A place like this in the heart of Colombo would be a great success and it has already caught the attention of many.

Royal creamery is open from 11 am onwards.
