5 Easy Peasy Rice Recipes.

Self-isolation has made us gobble down mounds and mounds of rice but are we really tired of that?
 
Nope, not at all. Anyway, here are five ways if you want to give an interesting twist to your plain rice, so you can eat them on its own; no curries needed.

Dallo Rice

Rich with spices, this Dallo rice has plenty of chewy cuttlefish pieces to go around. Make sure to cook the cuttlefish with the spices, and the rice with its stock for an intensified flavour.

Fish Biriyani

Fish is always considered as a healthy option in comparison to meats, so this would be your shot at crafting up a healthy biriyani. Infused with a dash of cardamom, cinnamon, coriander and a bunch of other spices, it has all the deliciousness you look for in a biriyani, with a whole lot of well-seasoned chunks of seer fish.

Bacon Fried Rice

Bacon makes everything heaps better; no arguments there. And when you toss it with a handful of nai miris in your rice, it makes a spicy, smoky treat. 

Ghee Rice

Do you buy into the popular myth that ghee rice needs curries to accompany it? Well, in that case, have a look at our version of ghee rice and see for yourself. Wafting a strong aroma of ghee, it has caramelised raisins, cashew nuts and onions scattered about, and if you really want something to go with it, we suggest adding a spoonful of chilli paste. 

Lankan Style Nasi Goreng

The kitchen adventures in Sri Lankan household is never limited to just Lankan things. We always like to add a tweak of our own to non-Sri Lankan dishes, and this Nasi Goreng is one such example. It's not authentic at all, but tastes great, nonetheless.
