Cafe Noir.

Café Noir is a very aesthetically pleasing coffee shop that opened up a few days ago. We decided to pop in for a quick first look.

Food and Drinks

They have a very simple menu, with savory items, hot/cold beverages, and desserts. From their savory range, we opted for the Calamari Fritti (Rs, 560). The portion came within 15 minutes of ordering, which gave us enough time to take in the beautiful interior work. The portion came with a large helping of tartar sauce and a handful of calamari rings coated with a thin, crispy batter. This was quite flavorsome and we really enjoyed it.

From their drinks menu, we tried the Caramel Latte (Rs. 520). Now would be a good time to mention that you can pick what type of milk you want (skimmed or full cream) and whether you want it decaf or normal. We ordered a normal, with full cream and it was delicious. It wasn't too sweet and you could taste both the caramel and coffee. It was like happiness in a mug. One of the waiters mentioned that they use a special brand of coffee, which is essentially a mix of Brazilan, Ethiopian and Columbian coffee beans.

From their desserts, we tried the Apple Pie (Rs. 440). This was warm, sweet and also a bit tangy, The crust wasn't crumbly, and it held well together.

Service and Ambience

The service was great. The staff was friendly and very helpful. We had to place our orders on tabs, so there was someone around to guide us through the process and recommend items from the menu. As they just opened, they really value customer feedback, so they kept asking if everything was alright and what we thought of the place.

Wooden floors with dark coloured walls, bright furniture, and tons of natural light make Café Noir one of the nicest places around this area. The atmosphere is calming, with low piano covers playing in the background. It's a great place to hang out with your friends, family or even if you want some alone time with a good book.

The have a 'VIP Lounge' on the third floor, which means you have to make reservations beforehand. But, since they just opened, they mentioned that you can just come and sit up here.

Conclusion

We highly recommend this place. It's got a brilliant atmosphere, great coffee, and it doesn't hurt your wallet too much. Also, since they just opened they've been giving out complimentary chocolates!
