The oldest and by far, the most authentic of the Oktoberfest is back with a bang for the 30th consecutive time as Hilton Oktoberfest officially kicked off in true Bavarian fashion on the 2nd of November at the Sports Centre Arena. Featuring the iconic Bavarian Oompah band and a host of traditional Oktoberfest games, music, food, and fellowship, this is definitely a festival you really shouldn’t miss out on! Lucky for you, Hilton Oktoberfest is set to go on till the 11th of November every day, giving you plenty of opportunities to experience it.
Ambiance
The whole sports centre arena was converted to one massive tent and gave off a very cosy and lively atmosphere for the entire night with it being extravagantly decorated in the traditional Bavarian colours, Bavarian flags and with decorative fairy lights hanging along the ceiling. It truly was a sight to see with all the decorations, the crowd, and the good time everyone was having. The Iconic Oktoberfest party hat deserves a special mention as well, truly setting the theme of a Bavarian night.
The band and the hostesses played their part in creating that setting with their vibe and fashion as well. In true Bavarian fashion, the men were clad in Lederhosen and the women in the traditional Dirndl and with their cheery and festive exterior, the vibes were simply infectious. And with the Oompah band, you know it’s never going to be just the regular old live music, as they serenaded the night with some Bavarian tunes and chants, guaranteed to get you up and dancing in no time! Zicke Zacke, Zicke Zacke, hoi hoi hoi! was a particular crowd favourite, and got the whole tent roaring it along with them.
Food and drinks
This is a department where Hilton Oktoberfest really aced it with flying colours, bringing in a wonderful variety of authentic Bavarian Cuisine dishes that will satisfy all of your meat cravings and more. This enticing German buffet offers a few light appetizers such as Swabian pasta, several potato side dishes, and a few vegetable side dishes, including the famous Sauerkraut (sour pickled and braised white cabbage) to get you going. They have pulled out all the stops in bringing the big guns to the table as the buffet offered a mouth-watering variety of meat dishes to satisfy even the pickiest of eaters, whether it be chicken, pork, beef, fish, or sausages. And if you’re a vegetarian, you have nothing to worry as the buffet also offered vegetarian options such as Potato kievs, vegetarian sausages and you can always load up on the appetizer dishes as well. Guten appetit indeed!
Having partnered with Lion beer, Hilton Oktoberfest offered 5 different varieties of beer, which you can go either for a mug or a straight-up tower. They also offered a selection of hard liquor and wines as well as some juices and mocktails for the non-alcoholic drinkers. Cheers!
