There are many interesting things to do this weekend and while you are at it, these are our recommended places to eat this weekend - because eating is important unless you're a breatharian.
Tucked away on Fife Road, is the Blue Swan. The Blue Swan is a homely, cosy little nook that serves up a variety of food items. From their famous coffees, to their beverages, to their savouries and their desserts. This little beauty in known for the home-made, home baked, homegrown goodness. We love dropping in at this cosy cafe.
How about some Indian fare? Madras Masala Restaurant is the new kid on the block to the list of Indian restaurants in Wellawatte. Serves both non-vegetarian as well as vegetarian. We found it rather mild and toned down in flavours and spice considering Madras is known as the land of spice. Nevertheless, the food is good and so are the prices.
If you are a local or a non-local who would like to experience Sri Lankan food, we present Culture Colombo. While being your typical Sri Lankan food, it is also a treat. The food is both flavoursome and filling and worth the price you pay. The location is a bungalow flipped into a restaurant. Try out the local desserts.
For those who are looking for healthy options - there's Pure Kitchen. Let me list some of there fare here for you: Banana & Oat Pancake, Spicy Quinoa Egg Fried Rice, Vietnamese Chicken Slaw are some of the items we tried and also very much liked. Gone are the days when healthy food was far from flavoursome. Pure Kitchen serves up health as well as meals packed in flavour so that you will definitely enjoy every bite you eat.
