A Sunday Brunch Worth Looking Forward To – Radisson’s Brunch Buffet.

By Sharon Nonis,

If you’re someone who enjoys a slow, satisfying morning and a good spread, Radisson’s Brunch Buffet is a spot to check out. We recently dropped by for their buffet and let’s just say it didn’t disappoint.

The first thing you notice when you walk in is how calm and cozy the place feels. There’s plenty of natural light, comfy seating, and a soft, quiet atmosphere that instantly puts you at ease.

And we must mention the staff members, they were super kind and helpful throughout, always checking in with a smile, which really made the whole experience feel easy and welcoming.

Soup & Bread Corner

The salad section was fresh and had a great variety for anyone in the mood for something light from crunchy greens to pasta salads, with a good mix of toppings and dressings to build your own plate. Right next to it was a nice surprise: a sushi and seafood corner. The sushi was fresh, neatly prepared, and offered a mix of both vegetable and meat options, catering to different preferences. For something warm to start with, there were two comforting soups on offer: a smooth and creamy roasted butternut squash and star fruit soup, and a flavor-packed seafood harira soup. These thoughtful additions made the spread feel more well-rounded and special.

Fresh Salads, Sushi & a Bit of Seafood

The salad section was fresh and had a great variety for anyone in the mood for something light from crunchy greens to pasta salads, with a good mix of toppings and dressings to build your own plate. Right next to it was a nice surprise: a sushi and maki platter and a seafood corner. The sushi was fresh, neatly prepared, and offered a mix of both vegetable and meat options, catering to different preferences. Alongside that, the chilled seafood featuring prawns and cuttlefish was a real treat for seafood lovers. It was fresh, well-prepared, and was exactly the kind of addition you’d hope to see.

Indian & Chinese Sections

The Indian corner had everything you’d expect and more, biriyani, fresh soft naan and a range of rich, flavorful curries making it a great way to start enjoying Indian dishes. The naan was perfect when pairing up with the delicious curries, and the biriyani’s aroma alone was enough to draw you in. Right beside it, the Chinese section offered a great selection of fried rice, stir-fried noodles, and other savory dishes that were satisfying ideal if you’re someone who prefers a filling, savory start to the day. Together, these two corners brought plenty of variety to the buffet, giving you much more than the usual spread.

The Live Cooking Experience

One of the highlights of the buffet was undoubtedly the live stations. The pasta corner was a crowd favorite. You could choose your sauce and toppings, and the chef prepared it fresh on the spot. We went with the white sauce pasta, which was rich, creamy, and perfectly balanced so good that we couldn’t resist going back for seconds.

Right next to it was the carving station, which truly stole the show. It featured an impressive lineup of mains including roasted chicken with giblet sauce, Asian-marinated baked red snapper, succulent roasted lamb leg, and tender pork, all carved to order. Each dish was cooked to perfection, with distinct flavors that stood out on their own. The combination of freshly made pasta with all the meats and mains came together so well it was a delicious, satisfying meal.

Juices & Desserts

For drinks, they had a few juice options like orange, guava, and mixed fruit, light and refreshing. And for dessert there were plenty of options, but our favorite was hands-down the hot chocolate pudding. It was warm, gooey, and honestly better than what we expected. They also had cakes, fresh fruits, and other sweet bites if you wanted to end light.

All in all, Radisson’s Brunch Buffet is a solid pick for anyone who loves variety and a good, relaxed vibe. The food hits all the right marks, the live stations add something special, and the staff make you feel completely at home.

If you’re ever in the mood for a slow, good brunch in Colombo this one worth waking up early for.
