Shay int. has a modern collection of women’s clothing, locally designed by Shayani Alwis. They were also featured in Colombo Fashion Week this year.
The Stuff
Dresses at Shay int. are very chic and come in various lengths, prints, designs and colors. The collection of dresses is extensive priced at Rs. 2800 upwards. They have a good collection of crop tops if you like to show some midriff. The crop tops are priced at Rs. 1800+. There are also blouses (mainly long sleeved) mostly suitable for formal wear priced at Rs. 2000+ and t-shirts starting from Rs. 1800. There was a good selection of skirts for both casual and office wear (long and short) also priced at Rs. 1,800+.
They take in custom orders and the prices would depend on the design and the material needed, with no additional processing charge.
The Ambience
The shopping experience at Shay int. was very high end. The ambience was good, the music happening, and the atmosphere was just right. The store was adorned with pics of celebs and models and some funky quotes here and there on the walls.
Conclusion
What I like about Shay int. is that it’s a local designer offering the latest trends (crop tops anyone?). The clothes are hip and wearable and not so ridiculously eccentric that it would make you uncomfortable in a crowd.
