Hola Bonjour is an alternative in the market of comfort food in Colombo, by offering great classics of South American and French cuisine with a Sri Lankan twist.
It is also the story of several friends who got together to bring a new flavor to the bustling gastronomy landscape of Sri Lanka. We wanted to bring our different expertise to the restaurant industry as we all have various professional backgrounds in diverse sectors.

Ham Monsieur
We should start with the presentation of the Ham Monsieur. It was very well presented; the food was warm and it smelt so good and appetizing. Dirk from Hola Bonjour checked with us about our tolerance of spice which was impressive. Ham Monsieur has a generous amount of cheese and Ham in it. We savored each mouthful. So, if you are a Ham and cheese lover don’t hesitate to try Ham Monsieur from Hola Bonjour with all its herbs, you might feel that you are grabbing a bite from a quaint café in Paris.
Beef Empanadas
We received the freshly baked Beef Empanadas which is a Spanish treat, nice and warm. Once again, we loved how it was presented. It tasted and looked a lot like the Sri Lankan patties. We received it with Chimichurri Sauce and the two complimented each other well. It wasn’t too spicy. It was absolutely ‘Bien’. (Good in Spanish)
Torta de Limao – Dessert
Tangy and delicious. It was a very pretty presentation. We loved the generous amount of whipped cream. Not too sweet and neither was it sour. The downside of the Torta de Limao was that the pastry was crumbly. But that doesn’t take away how delicious Torta de Limao tasted. So, if you are in a mood to taste something tangy and not too sweet, we recommend you call Hola Bonjour. Buen appetit!
