Started off as a humble home-based business, Eat Right now has claimed a spot on the 3rd floor of Racecourse Promenade, right next to the popular Fitness Connection gym.
Well, let's admit it - healthy food is not for everyone. For some, it's rabbit food, or the last resort after weeks of gulping down carbs, while there's a bunch out there who praises them on a daily basis. Not everyone does healthy food right, because it's a whole different kind of art, which is why we found Eat Right to be quite interesting.

If you've been avoiding kottu, pasta, wrap-like food, for the sake of being a healthy person, this is a safe space. Because whatever they whip up here is healthy, so you won't feel guilty after eating.
Our starter was this gorgeous plate of Thai Salad - Beef (Rs. 600). Most of their dishes are offered with different kinds of protein - chicken, seafood, egg, and beef, so you get to pick one of them.
Comprised of grilled beef, pineapple, and a bunch of veggies - lettuce, tomatoes, and colorful bell pepper, the elements of this salad were quite fresh and tasted really great. The beef was chewy, the pineapple was deliciously sour, the veggies were crunchy, while the sprinkle of sesame seeds added for extra munch.
The Red Rice Mongolian Stir Fry - Seafood (Rs. 880) certainly impressed us. It was plentiful with bits of prawns, cuttlefish and white fish to go with every spoonful, while the rice was sticky and seasoned well. They've gone easy on the rice, but it had lots and lots of thinly sliced carrots, spring onions, and parsley to make up for it. To kick it up a notch, try it with the pepper sauce on the side.
Tucked in between three loaves of brown bread, we really liked this Chicken Toscana Sandwich (Rs. 550). Made with a few simple ingredients - chunks of chicken dressed in mayo, and slices of tomato and lettuce piled up on one side, it was a well-executed, and more importantly, a filling snack. The tangy flavors of the tomato helped to elevate the taste of this, while the lettuce left a fresh feel on the tongue. So good!
As for our drinks, we got a Vitamin C Dose (Rs. 450) and a Turbo Charge (Rs. 500).
Concocted with apples, avocado, celery, cucumber, lime, pineapple and spinach, the Turbo Charge had a lot going on. This one is all about the balance - a bit of sourness from apples and lime, the creamy texture from avocado, a teeny tiny swirl of sweetness from pineapple, an earthy feel from spinach, while the cucumber added a refreshing kick to it. All of them bound very nicely to one delicious drink.
For those of you who are obsessed with citrusy flavors, Vitamin C Dose is your best pick here. Uniting the freshly squeezed flavors of orange, strawberries, mandarin, and grapefruit, it's sweet and sour at the same time, while the added juice sacs of mandarin and orange were a nice touch. It's a refreshing, and not-too-heavy drink, which would work fine as a good summer staple as well.
Aligned with a few wooden tables and chairs, this place is air-conditioned and well-maintained. However, we ran into a little trouble of finding cutlery for us, so we had to borrow them from the other tables.
The restaurant counter is manned by two friendly ladies. They were quick on their feet and assisted us to choose the food that works well with our palates.
All in all, we are glad that Eat Right has managed their way towards a nice restaurant in a super central location. The quality and the taste of the food are still intact, and it's one of the places that you can enjoy a guilt-free meal for an affordable cost.*Note that Nations Trust Bank American Express Cardmembers get 15% savings on dining at Eat Right.
