Pass the busy road of Sri Jayawardenapura, Kotte and head your way towards Battaramulla and find yourself gazing at the beautifully landscaped new park at the Water’s Edge.
You get a large oval of white tents filled with flowers and plants with a live band in the middle and swan boats on the lake.
Water’s Edge park which used to be accessible only to club members is now open to the public for walking, jogging or for just a leisure outing. The park is best known for its flower and plant shows conducted almost every weekend. Anyone from a child showing interest in gardening to experienced planters and landscape artists come here for all their basic gardening needs or even for new ideas.
Different kinds of flowers, crotons, fruit plants, ferns to garden tools, fertilizer, garden ornaments and pots are available here at a reasonable price. If you’re looking for that rare orchid or a particular colored rose, the shop owners will be happy to assist you as they are experts in these areas and most probably than not, will be able to help you find what you’re looking for.
