Three Coins has been completely rebooted under its new owners (Lion Breweries). We tried it out and it’s pretty good – it’s a light lager that should go well with spicy food. Or just chilling.

It’s a light beer with a sharp, crisp aftertaste. As Jeremy says, the taste sort of evolves on your palate. It starts sharp and then blooms into a fruity taste as you swallow. I personally have been drinking stout as a heavy, sweet beer and this is a nice contrast. Dunno what the calorie count is, but it feels light. Don’t tell me.
Malmal
Very light, unremarkable. There was a sweet aftertaste with the first bottle I tried. Reminded me of Anchor.

I don’t usually like beer but this is a nice contrast to the one beer that I do like, which is Lion Stout. Not bitter at all, light and airy (but not too carbonated), fruity aftertaste and malty feel.

It’s quite light, and might be a great beer to introduce your girlfriend to if she’s particularly against it. In that sense, it’s kind of like Corona without the packaging. There’s a subtle sweetness to it, and the lightness makes for an easy drink. I’d actually pair this with the sesame prawn toast at Flower Drum.
