The Weekend Round Up.

It’s the weekend already and here’s a glance at what’s happening in Colombo.

Friday 13th June

The Brothers Grimm Spectaculathon

In this play Zolidias, who is Zoldias you ask. Don Zolidias is the guy who wrote The Brothers Grimm Speculathon in 2007 based on the classic fairy tale recorded by Jacob and Wilhelm Grimm in 1812. What is interesting is Zoldias has managed to squeeze all 209 Grimm fairy tales into a fast-paced, rollicking whimsical comedy that turns all the tales on their heads, where the audience is always kept guessing about what will come next. 7.30 PM at the Bishops College Auditorium 15, Boyd Place, Colombo 03, Colombo.

Saturday 14th June

You’ve Got It Pussycat

It’s no ordinary cat. It’s a talking cat. Not only that the cat is a sophisticated single lady cat. That’s the talking cat we’re on about. It’s a bag toting fashion plate. The English Union of Holy Family Convent Bambalapitiya presents the musical You’ve Got It Pussycat based on Judith Prior’s ‘What’s New Pussycat’. Holy Family Convent Bambalapitiya, Galle Road Colombo 04.

Burger Workshop For Kids

I think kids get to have all the fun and do all the fun things. If you’re a kid and want to don on a chef’s what-d’ya-call-it type of hat and play chef for a couple of hours and learn to make a gob smacking burgers take your kids to the Colombo Fort Café for a burger making class. Colombo Fort Café Old Dutch Hospital Complex, Echelon Square.

Domestic Aid Charity Concert

The Solidarity Center is organizing a musical concert to celebrate the international domestic workers day which falls on 16 June 2014. The concert’s aims is to raise awareness among Sri Lankan employees of local domestic workers as well as general awareness regarding the plight of Sri Lankan migrant domestic workers abroad. Musaeus College Auditorium 58 Rosmead Place, Colombo.

Sunday 15th June
