We include Magic Corn under restaurants; it’s actually a little stall that can be found lurking in the basements of malls, shops and street corners across the city. I think the original Magic Corn outlet opened at the ODEL food court. This was well over five years ago, when the appearance of the mystic golden grain on the afterschool snack circuit was cause of mini-excitement.
What is magic corn? We’re not sure where the magic part comes in, but it’s basically a little snack made from steamed kernels of sweetcorn mixed together with a variety of spices, salt, pepper, cheese, garlic, etc. depending on the flavour you ask for. A small cup ranges from Rs. 160 to Rs. 190 and they’ve got six flavours: original, mayo, spicy, chinese, meaty and mexicana.
To be honest, we’re not the biggest fans. Salty, warm pieces of corn in a cup – it’s never going to be better than a straight up cob. But if you’re a fan, wander over to the food court at Majestic City and enjoy some MC at MC.
