It's always a good time to dine out, but especially at Christmas. Colombo (and Sri Lankan) restaurants step their game up, friends are in town and there are, of course, the deals.

Hilton Residences: Flow
Flow is a great multi-cuisine buffet. Some special things to look out for – the fresh fish station, and their excellent sushi buffet. There's a range of cuisines here, from Chinese to Western and of course Sri Lankan.

Galadari: California Grill and Coffee Shop
Galadari's California Grill has beautiful views across the ocean and of course tender steak. And their coffee house is centrally located. This season they're offering Nations Trust Bank American Express Cardmembers 15% savings during dinner (on food only) on Christmas Eve (the 24th).
Grand Oriental Hotel: Harbour Room
The Grand Oriental is one of the oldest and most charming hotels in Colombo. They have perhaps the busiest view in the city from their Harbour Room, looking directly onto the ships coming and going from the main Colombo Port. It's worth a visit for the view alone.
It's also a charming place for Christmas Eve dinner and Christmas Day lunch or dinner, with 10% savings for Nations Trust Bank American Express Cardmembers.
Domino's Pizza
Domino's is a classic international pizza chain with speedy delivery, and this season when you order a large pizza you get a regular one (same or lesser range) for free. With Nations Trust Bank American Express Cards of course.
YUMI (Taj)
YUMI serves up some of the freshest Japanese cuisines in Colombo, in a beautiful, recently refurbished corner of the Taj. Sushi is always a treat, and you can treat yourself to 20% savings on lunch and dinner if you're a Nations Trust Bank American Express Cardmember, until the 30th December (excluding the 24th and 25th).
