Wherein YAMU and other local guides show CNN around Sri Lanka
UPDATE: You can watch the show here: http://travel.cnn.com/cnngo-colombo-666866 (thank you Sara and Pathum). The YAMU segment is the second one.
CNNGo is a 30-minute travel show on, you guessed it, CNN. This month they’re covering Sri Lanka, with guided tours from Dharshan Munidasa (Ministry Of Crab), Dilshan and Ishara (TNL Radio), and Indi Samarajiva of YAMU (that’s me, who’s writing this). They also have an intro to Sri Lanka at large hosted by the Dilmah tea family among others.
For the YAMU segment I showed them around some slightly odd places – the life-sized figurines at Old Town Hall, the Castle Hotel bar – and the decidedly less dodgy Barefoot Cafe.
The crew was really cool to work with and I think their selections (around the island) and the way they shoot should make for an interesting show. We at YAMU are also quite happy that Sri Lanka is being featured internationally like this, because it really is a great place to visit and explore.
