7 Countries you can travel to during the pandemic.

Shamrina Carim

Global traveling can be overwhelming with restrictions and policies that you need to follow. COVID has not yet made any convenience in the travel schedule as it was pre-pandemic, even though a green list is present in concern to access to travel to certain countries. To ease out your decision-making, we have researched and selected the top 7 destinations that travel is open during the pandemic in 2022!

However, whether you travel for holiday or for business, it is vital to inquire from the respective consulate on the dramatically changing policies and COVID-19 documentation required before you decide to travel to one of the countries, we recommend on this blog.

1. Armenia

Yerevan Cascades

A beautifully landscaped country where you could escape and indulge in succulent cuisines and a rich Asian mixed culture. To visit this amazing historical country, the government of Armenia has imposed a flexible COVID-19 travel protocol, so that you get to enjoy your vacation while staying safe.

  • Travel restrictions: Travelling allowed
  • Quarantine may be required
  • The Armenian government has not yet implemented negative pre-departure COVID-19 test results for immigrants to the country

It is best to travel with a 2-dose vaccination certificate taken 14 days prior to travel. A digitalized submission of the certificate can be done through the ArmedeHealth mobile application. A printed version of the certificate should display a valid QR code. The documentation is valid in Armenian, Russian, and English with the respective letterhead.

2. Belarus

A unique experience amongst the agricultural space, providing you a fascinating insight into their rich cultural heritage and naturally landscaped greenery. As a European nation, the protocol is rigid to a certain level, yet this depends on the kind of traveler you are when you move across the world frequently.

  • Traveling allowed. If you have been traveling to a couple of other countries, restrictions can differ based on your travel context.
  • Quarantine is not mandatory.
  • It is not compulsory to show proof of a negative pre-departure COVID-19 test, prior to visiting the country.

We advise you to have a minimum health insurance plan of €10,000 with the proof, showing you are eligible to manage your healthcare during a crucial period. The Minsk Airport- free visa regime will refer to your medical plan before letting you enter the grounds of Belarus.

3. Estonia

If you are looking for a spare break between leisure and self-employment, Estonia promises a charming experience to delegate peace, serene, and a relaxed holiday. The EU has lifted a majority of the travel ban in the country while following ground rules on health protocol.

  • Travel restrictions may vary from person to person. If you have been traveling frequently to Orange and Red destinations as defined by the EU, it is best to keep your vaccinations and quarantine records up-to-date.
  • Entry is permitted for vaccinated tourists only. Hence, quarantine is not required.
  • Proof of a negative pre-departure COVID-19 test is not obligatory as stated by the government of Estonia.

If you are a fully immunized traveler, you need to document the immunization passport including a copy in either Latin, Estonian, Russian or English. Please refer to the manufacturer’s instructions when waiting between the vaccination and immunization gaps. Proof can be presented digitally through the EU Digital Certificate.

4. Germany

Make this one of your bucket list countries to visit during the pandemic in 2022. This could be one of those wonderlands escapes to exciting nightlife, art, poetry, and a culture full of world history and politics. Enjoy an adventure while adhering to their COVID regulations appropriately.

  • All vaccinated travelers are welcome to explore Germany with a proper record of previous traveling history.
  • Since you are vaccinated, quarantine is not mandatory.
  • No requirement to show proof of pre-departure COVID-19 test results.

Your consulate will provide you with an instruction link in favor of the vaccines you have taken within 14 days. A 2-dose vaccination is preferably acceptable of any of the stated types of boosters. It is vital that all vaccines are certified and proved through print or digitally in German, English, French, Italian, or Spanish.

5. Mexico

Surprisingly, Mexico should be added to the travel agenda when traveling to the pacific. The vibrant culture, deliciously spicy food, and the never-ending festive drinks enjoyed among the locals on relaxing beaches are the primary attractions to visit this joy land. Amidst the excitement, Mexico has strictly requested foreigners visiting under any stated visas to abide by the COVID guidelines.

  • Update the travel history accordingly. Receive your vaccinations as per the instructions stated on the protocol for the certificate required by Mexico.
  • Yet, travel is open to both vaccinated and non-vaccinated tourists.
  • It is not compulsory to show negative pre-departure COVID-19 test results.

6. Spain

You could be one of those sports fans who are obsessed with Barcelona, Madrid, Valencia, and the collective ambition to visit the sites too! Spain, fortunately, falls in the Green list allowing crowds and other entertainment spaces to operate carefully while minimizing COVID-19 health protocol violations.

  • Get a 2-dose vaccination, of which the last dose should be taken 14 days prior to visiting Spain
  • Zero quarantine requirements and no proof are necessary on the negative pre-departure COVID-19 test results.

Your proof of vaccination should consist of boosters approved by European Medicines Agency and by the World Health Organization. Both the EU digital certificate as well as UK’s COVID-19 Vaccination record is valid. The booster is strictly required to be less than 270 days old.

7. Ukraine

One of the attractions that you could enjoy in Ukraine is the diversified potential of stunning women, appreciating the culture, and once again, you get to enjoy a neat view of greenery in the landscapes. Ukraine has its possibilities of catching the virus easily since it is a densely populated tourist zone. Update yourself on the protocol prior to making a decision before traveling here.

  • All vaccinated travelers are welcome to explore Germany with a proper record of previous traveling history.
  • Since you are vaccinated, quarantine is not mandatory.
  • Health pass automatically requires to show proof of pre-departure COVID-19 test results.

If you are a traveler who is more than 12 years old, when showing proof of at least 1 vaccination dose, certified by the WHO. Your consulate should provide you the information on your relevant vaccines and precautions that the Ukraine government expects by law.

Additionally, the large tourist and local mixed crowds has tempted the guidelines to certify a health pass that validates the proof of recovery from COVID-19, if you have had before.
